Tasmanian Award Winner - right
on the money.
The winner of the IFA Paraplanner of the Year Award 2004
for Tasmania has been announced. The winner is Jaime Donaldson,
who is part of the financial planning team at Tasmanian Perpetual
Trustees Limited. She received her award recently at a special
ceremony held in Sydney.
The Paraplanner of the Year Award recognises the importance of paraplanners
and celebrates the best in the field. Winning the prestigious accolade
confirms an entrant as one of the financial planning industry’s
rising stars. The award is judged by IFA (Independent Financial Adviser)
magazine, Australian Unity, the Financial Planning Association and
Tribeca, the financial education and training organisation.
Commenting on the Award, Mr Mark Scanlon, Managing Director of Tasmanian
Perpetual Trustees said “This award has continued to grow each
year and offers a great chance to showcase the continuing enhancement
of professionalism in the financial planning industry. Paraplanners
are assistant-financial planners and are vital to the preparation
of an effective financial plan but unfortunately, their valuable
contribution often goes unnoticed. They analyse investment
options, prepare advice and may also personally assist clients as
well as carry out crucial liaison between other professionals including
fund managers, accountants, actuaries, estate planning and investment
specialists.”
This year there are six finalists from around Australia, with Jaime
Donaldson being the winner in the Tasmanian division. She will travel
back to Sydney in March 2005 for the announcement of the winner of
the National title.
Speaking about her chances in the National title Mr Scanlon said “Although
I realise the competition is extremely tough I am confident that
she will do well in the National titles. She has found that through
working with the highly professional team at Tasmanian Perpetual
Trustees Financial Planning Service, it is imperative that she maintain
a very high standard of financial planning and this should put her
in good stead at the National titles.”
